eCO2 Acne Scar Resurfacing Laser
How can the eCO2 Acne Scar Resurfacing Laser help you?
Dr Edwin believes that CO2 Fractional skin resurfacing laser is the gold standard for treating deep acne scars.
Acne scars are formed when there is loss of tissue and collagen from inflammation due to acne.
As such, the key aim of Acne Scar treatment is to stimulate collagen production to restore it's loss.
How does it work?
The eCO2 laser uses Controlled Chaos Technology (CCT™), an advanced system which increases safety, reduces discomfort and accelerates healing time.
During the treatment, precise, micro-ablative Columns (MACs) are created. This tiny areas of "controlled damage" stimulates the body's healing process and increases production of new collagen and renewal of skin.
- Skin resurfacing for younger looking skin
- Improvement in acne scars, surgical scars, other types of scars
- Minimised pores
- Improvement in wrinkles, fine lines
- Improvement in pigmentation
Depending on severity of scars, a strong numbing cream will be applied for between 20 to 30 minutes.
Each laser session is split into 2 parts. During the first part, Dr Edwin will use a high powered setting to target each individual acne scar. For the second part, a lower power is used for the rest of the face to improve skin texture and for skin rejuvenation.
After laser, the face will be red and tiny scabs will be observed where the Micro Ablative Columns were created. Downtime is approximately 7 days. Treatments should be done once a month.
Dr Edwin recommends patients to prepare the skin 2 weeks before laser with a specially formulated Vitamin C serum and Anti-pigmentation cream. Post-laser, an Intensive Recovery Cream is recommended to speed up recovery.
How long does each treatment take?
A treatment typically last between 15-30mins, depending on the condition or treatment area.
Is it painful?
Numbing cream will be applied before the procedure for 20 to 30 minutes. During the procedure, discomfort will be minimal and at most, pricking sensations may be experienced.
How many treatments are required?
Is there any downtime?
The downtime is about 5 to 7 days and consists of skin crusting and scabbing.
