Rejuran S Acne Scar Treatment

What is Rejuran S Acne Scar Treatment?

Rejuran S Acne Scar Treatment is a medical procedure to address acne scars.

This treatment involves the use of polynucleotides (PN), which are DNA fragments that help repair damaged cells and stimulate collagen.

These regenerative properties serve to promote the healing of damaged skin tissues such as acne scars.

What Causes Acne Scars?

Acne scars form when inflammation from acne damages the skin tissue, prompting the body to produce new collagen fibers to repair the injury. If insufficient collagen is produced, it leads to depressed, pitted scars because the skin lacks the necessary support to maintain its smooth texture

Rejuran S Mechanism Of Action

Rejuran S

Polynucleotide (PN) which are complex DNA fragments extracted from salmon serve as a scaffold in the skin, supporting cellular growth and the regeneration of tissue.

Stimulation of Healing

The treatment facilitates a healing response by the skin. Polynucleotides in Rejuran S can trigger the release of growth factors that help in skin repair. These growth factors work by enhancing the natural regenerative capabilities of the skin.

Collagen Synthesis

Rejuran S stimulates the production of collagen, a protein that provides structure and elasticity to the skin. Since acne scars typically arise from a disruption in collagen formation during healing, increasing collagen production can improve the appearance of these scars by smoothing and filling in scarred areas.

Types of Acne Scars

Rejuran S Acne Scar Treatment can be used to address different types of acne scars such as

  • Boxcar Scars
  • Icepick Scars

Rejuran S Treatment Experience

Prior to treatment, topical anesthesia such as numbing cream or nerve block injections can be employed to reduce discomfort.

During the procedure, a small needle is used to inject Rejuran S directly under the targeted acne scars.

After the procedure, there will be small bumps over the treated areas containing the injected Rejuran S.

Patients are advised to apply an intensive recovery cream as well as to massage the bumps over the next few days to facilitate the healing process.

There may be some needle marks, swelling and bruising after the procedure which will typically recover after 5 to 7 days.

Rejuran S Acne Scar with Subcision

For deep or large acne scars, an additional procedure called subcision may be used alongside Rejuran S. This method involves breaking the fibrous bands that tether the scar, effectively 'releasing' the scar. Subsequently, Rejuran S is directly injected into the base of the acne scar to stimulate collagen production and promote healing.

More info about Subcision can be found here.

How many treatments do I need for Rejuran S (Scar) ?

Depending on the number and severity of acne scars, multiple syringes (1ml each) of Rejuran S may be necessary for each treatment session.

Typically, 3 to 5 sessions are needed for intended outcomes, with a 4-week interval between each session.

Of note, results may vary and the number of treatments required can differ based on individual cases.
