Jawline fillers is a minimally invasive, non-surgical medical aesthetic injectable treatment to create a more defined and sculpted jawline.
Fillers or dermal fillers are a gel-like substance that is injected beneath the skin to add volume to the injected area.
Both men and women can benefit from jawline fillers to obtain a more masculine or feminine appearance respectively.
The chin is technically part of the jawline and refers to the anterior (front-most) portion of the jawline. Anything posterior (behind) the chin is referred to as the jawline.
Chin fillers are commonly done for people with short or receded chins. With chin fillers, patients are able to achieve a longer, more defined chin shape with more forward projection.
Men who feel that their face is too “round” or “slim” and desire a more masculine, angular and chiselled jawline profile will be an ideal candidate for jawline fillers.
Women who find that the aging process over the years have caused the lost of definition along the jawline due to bone resorption and sagging of facial tissues will benefit from the injection of jawline fillers.
By restoring the jawline with fillers, they will enjoy a more youthful appearance as well as lifting of the sagging jowls.
Dr Edwin prefers to use “harder” fillers such as Restylane Lyft, Juvederm Voluma or Ellanse.

Jawline fillers are injected using a combination of the cannula method and sharp needle technique.
At the angle of the mandible (gonial angle) for example, Dr Edwin may prefer to inject a bolus of filler in this area to create and enhance the “right angle” appearance.
Along the mandible, Dr Edwin will use a cannula to deposit the fillers in layers to shape and sculpt the jawline, creating a nicer, more defined facial frame.
Results can be seen immediately after treatment.
The treatment duration is around 30 minutes and patients can resume their normal activities of daily living straight after.
Discomfort is minimal and may feel like small ant bites.
Depending on the brand and type of fillers used, jawline fillers may last between 1 to 2 years.
Generally, Jawline Fillers are considered safe. Post treatment, patients may experience temporary side effects such as swelling or bruising which is mild and usually improves after 5 to 7 days.
Patients are advised to avoid pressure (such as facials or massages) over the injected area for 2 weeks as this is the time taken for fillers to settle.
Every clinic offers different jawline filler treatment options. No one clinic is same as the other. If you want to make sure that jawline filler injections are performed safely and effectively, make sure that the clinic is experienced in offering dermal filler treatments. The clinic should also offer information on the various types of filler treatments before proceeding.
