Gouri injections contain Polycaprolactone (PCL), a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer that stimulates collagen and elastin production in the skin.
Collagen and elastin are essential proteins that are responsible for maintaining skin structure, elasticity, and hydration. As we age, our body's production of collagen and elastin decreases, leading to the development of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin.
Gouri PCL Injection acts as a scaffold that supports the growth of new collagen and elastin fibers, leading to improved skin texture, elasticity, and volume.
The PCL particles are gradually broken down by the body, triggering the body's natural healing process and the production of new collagen fibers.
This treatment is a popular choice for those looking for a non-surgical and natural-looking way to slow down the skin’s aging process.
Gouri is ideal for improving the skin in the following areas:
Gouri can be injected in 2 methods - 5 biostimulatory points per side of the face and the Cannula Method.
Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages. Dr Edwin will tailor the treatment according to your skin requirements.
The cannula method is Dr Edwin's preferred method as the risk of swelling, bruising, discomfort and downtime is lesser.
It is recommended to do Gouri once a month for the first 3 to 4 months.
After which, the results are best maintained by doing Gouri once every 6 months.
Best results are seen after 4 sessions and results typically last between 9 to 12 months.
Immediately after treatment, there may be some localised swelling at the injection site. This swelling typically subsides in a few days.
Bruises are rare and will resolve in 5 to 7 days. Dr Edwin recommends applying the intensive recovery cream to reduce swelling and bruising.
Gouri is 100% bio compatible and is broken down by the body gradually.
Whilst both are collagen stimulators, Gouri contains PCL as the main ingredient and Rejuran Healer's main ingredient is Polynucleotides (PN).
The main difference would be in the treatment where Rejuran Healer requires multiple small injections over the entire face. Using the cannula method, Gouri only requires 2 to 6 injection points for treatment of the whole face.
For those seeking a treatment with minimal discomfort and downtime, Gouri may be an ideal option.

The main ingredient differs for both with Profhilo containing 2 types of Hyaluronic Acid and Gouri being a liquid form of PCL.
Profhilo offers both collagen stimulation and skin hydration. Gouri on the other hand focuses on collagen stimulation for lifting and improve skin quality.

Gouri's main ingredient is PCL and hence, it cannot be dissolved.
As such, the injection technique using the cannula approach is recommended because the risk of adverse effects such as lumps is low.
Every clinic offers different options for anti-aging. No one clinic is the same as the other. If you want to make sure that collagen boosting treatments are performed safely and effectively, make sure that the clinic is experienced in offering such Gouri injections. The clinic should also offer information on the various types of injectable treatments before proceeding.
