Temple Fillers Singapore

Guide to Temple Fillers Singapore

Why do you need Temple Fillers?

The aging process can cause volume and fat loss in the temples, resulting in the temples appearing hollow and sunken. The temples are found at the sides of the forehead, adjacent to the eyes.

Temple fillers can easily resolve the hollow and sunken appearance issue by filling up this hollowing to restore the smooth rounded contour that defines a younger face.

Dermal Fillers are made of hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance found in the body. Fillers break down naturally over time and last on average 12 to 16 months.

An additional benefit of temple fillers is that it helps to lift the eyebrows subtly, giving a natural, refreshed and younger appearance.

Treatment Experience

Depending on the severity of volume loss and hollowing, between 0.5 to 1ml of filler will be injected in each temple to achieve the desired smooth facial contours.

Dr Edwin prefers to use Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lyft to give excellent long lasting volumnisation of the temples.

1 to 2 small injections are placed in the deep skin tissues to avoid lumpiness and to deliver natural looking and feeling results.

Is it painful?

In the hands of a gentle and experienced doctor, the discomfort of filler injections are minimal.

Before each injection, Dr Edwin also applies an icepack to the injection area to further reduce the risk of bruising and discomfort.

How long do fillers last?

Temple fillers typically last between 12 to 16 months.

What are the side effects?

The downtime associated with fillers are minimal.

Some possible side effects include slight bruising or swelling which typically resolves quickly. An intensive recovery cream can be prescribed to speed up the resolution of swelling and bruising.

Cheek Fillers Guide Singapore

Guide to Cheek Fillers Singapore

Guide to Chin Fillers Singapore

Why do you need Cheek Fillers?

The cheeks are a crucial part of one’s facial features.

As we age, the cheeks undergo several changes. Volume is lost as fat pads shrink and the cheek bone atrophies. The cheek gradually deflates and sags inwards and downwards.

This gives rise to the classical appearance of deepening laugh lines, “jowlling” and hollowing of the cheeks.

Cheek fillers help to instantly lift the face by restoring volume at key points in the face as well as “rebuilding” the atrophied cheek bones.

With well placed fillers in the cheeks, nasolabial folds (laugh lines), tear troughs, marionette lines and jowling can also be improved!

The endpoint is a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Treatment Experience

Cheek fillers are a straightforward, safe and effective with a treatment time of around 30 to 45 minutes.

Downtime is minimal and patients are able to return to work or continue with their daily activities right after!

Dr Edwin primarily uses 2 types of fillers. Juvederm Voluma and Restylane Lyft. Both these fillers contain a local anesthetic ingredient which acts to numb the area which has been injected.

Ice is also applied to each injection point prior to injection to reduce discomfort further and more importantly, reduce the risk of bruising.

Depending on the area of the cheek that is to be treated, Dr Edwin may choose to use either a needle or cannula to perform the liquid filler facelift technique.

Results can be seen instantly!

What is Liquid Facelift / Filler Facelift?

In the skin, there exists true retaining ligaments which suspend the skin by attaching it to the bone.

Imagine these true retaining ligaments as the suspension cables of a suspension bridge. If the cables become lax with time, the bridge begins to descend. Similarly, the skin sags over time due to stretching and laxity of these retaining ligaments

Dr Edwin's Filler Liquid Facelift technique involves placing fillers at the base of several key retaining ligaments in the face to achieve an immediate, natural, non surgical facelift by tensing and tightening these true retaining ligaments.

What are Fillers?

Dermal fillers are a gel-like substance injected beneath the skin. Majority of fillers contain hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a naturally occuring substance in the body.

They are commonly used to augment and contour facial features by precisely adding volume to the area of interest.

How long do Cheek Fillers last?

HA fillers can last up to 1.5 years.

Are Cheek Fillers safe?

An experienced doctor will be well versed in the anatomy of the face and choose injection points that are both safe and effective in delivering lifting and volumnising effects!

HA fillers are also reversible and can be dissolved with Hyalase.

Alternatives to Cheek Fillers for Non Surgical Facelifting

The Ultraformer 3 HIFU is another popular treatment for non surgical facelifting and skin tightening. It uses high intensity focused ultrasound to stimulate collagen at specific areas of the skin.
